Chapter History

The Pi Alpha Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on February 5, 1983 and we are proud to be a part of the Greek Community at UofL. Pi Alpha was originally a sole organization without a Panhellenic connection. However, our founding members discovered how deeply their values aligned with Alpha Omicron Pi, thus prompting their decision to join this wonderful sisterhood.

We are proud to share that we are continuing the legacy of our founders with one of our seniors being awarded Panhellenic Senior of Year at the 2022 Fraternity & Sorority Life Awards. We happily share that all of our sisters are deeply involved in leadership positions across the University of Louisville’s campus. In past years, we have receive awards for Excellence in Lifetime Engagement, Excellence in Ritual Education, Excellence in Finance, Excellence in Membership Integrity, Excellence in Philanthropy, and Outstanding Alumnae Advisory Board at our International AOII Convention.
